Hello and I welcome you all to Global Affairs. Recently the World Happiness Report 2024 has been released. In this, Finland became the only country for the seventh time and data from 143 countries was taken and presented in this report.
As usual, the Nordic countries continue to dominate the top ranking, Denmark, Iceland and Sweden are behind Finland, while on the other hand, Afghanistan is at the lowest position in the list of 143 countries included in the survey, the reason for this is clear that it is in humanitarian crisis. Is. Even since the Taliban took over the rule of Afghanistan in 2020, it has remained at the bottom of the list.
Where is India in this report?
In this report, India's position is 126th out of 143 countries. It is very surprising that there has been no improvement in India's ranking. Last time also it was 126th and this time also it is 126th. While countries like Pakistan, Iraq and Palestine are also ahead of India, inside the report.
Highlights of this report.
(1) The United States fell in the rankings from 16th last year to 23rd this year.
(2) Canada stood at 15th position.
(3) Britain stood at 20th, Germany at 24th and France at 27th.
(4) Among Middle Eastern countries, UAE was ranked 22nd and Saudi Arabia was ranked 28th.
(5)Singapore ranked 30th among Asian countries. Japan is at 50 and South Korea is at 51. While China is at 60th, Nepal at 93, Pakistan at 108, Myanmar at 118, Sri Lanka at 128 and Bangladesh at 129. What is surprising is that there are some countries which are lacking in performance, like China, which has nominal democracy, on the other hand, Pakistan, which is going through an economic crisis, and Nepal, whose economy is not so good, yet its ranking is ahead of India. But it would not be wrong to believe that India's population is more than these nations, hence it is wrong to judge India according to the other parameters in this ranking. Because India's population is very large and it would be difficult to provide these data and surveys to everyone, hence there appears to be opaqueness in these data.
