Hello and I welcome you are at Global affairs.
Marco Reus will leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of this season, ending his 12-year contract, as both parties have mutually agreed not to extend the player's contract, the German club announced on Friday. The Dortmund academy player joined the club in 2012 from Borussia Monchengladbach and has scored 168 goals and assisted 128 goals in 424 games so far. Reus has been a charismatic player at Dortmund, winning the DFB-Pokal in 2016-17 and 2020-21 and reaching the Champions League final in 2013 under Jurgen Klopp.
Reus made a video of himself I am incredibly grateful and proud of this special time at my club Borussia Dortmund. I spent more than half of my life at this club and enjoyed every day, although of course there were difficult moments. I already know that it will be difficult for me to say goodbye at the end of the season. And yet I am glad that there is now clarity and that we can fully focus on the important final games that are still outstanding. We have a big goal in mind and we all want to achieve it together. For this we need each and every one of our incredible fans, whom I would like to especially thank for their incredible support over the years, "said Reus.
Let's just wish this legend all the best in advance for his next ascent and hope to see him play again in the future.
Thanks for reading.
