After New York and New Jersey earthquake hit Mariana Islands of US

 Hello and I welcome you all at Global affairs, recently a bad news come from US that a powerful 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck near the Mariana islands on Friday morning, 

according to the United States geological survey this is the second earthquake to hit the United States today. earlier 4.4 magnitude Tremors was held in New York and New Jersey, whose epicenter was 45 miles away from New York but even after these two Tremors, no Tsunami alert has been issued and Tsunami is not expected.

According to the USGS this notable earthquake was recorded just after 6:00 a.m. local time (4:00 a.m. ET on Thursday) in the maug Islands region near saipan, the northernmost of the Mariana Islands.

The Mariana islands are in the Western Pacific Ocean, North of the equator, northeast of Guam and are part of the United States. this is the third earthquake in the last four days after the massive 7.5 magnitude earthquake that struck Taiwan two days ago. however, a Tsunami alert was issued in Taiwan, Japan and the Philippines but it was later cancelled. 11 people lost their lives and more than 1000 were injured in this earthquake in Taiwan.

Magnitude is a measure of an earthquakes strength officially it's called 'the moment magnitude scale'.

Below 2.5: generally not felt

2.5 to 5.4: minor or no damage

5.5 to 6.0: minor damage to buildings or people

6.1 to 6.9: severe damage

8.0 or above : heavy damage

how will recent earthquakes harm the world economy?

The world economy will suffer a lot due to the recent earthquakes. because Taiwan is a major country which is an expert in making semiconductor chips, and their are very few electric products in the world which do not use semiconductor. Therefore, world will face a semiconductor shortage due to the new earthquakes and this will cause a lot of damage to the word economy and Technology Sector.
