The third match of the ongoing five-match T20 series between India and Zimbabwe was played. In the third match, Team India won by 23 runs and took a 2-1 lead in the series.
In the third match, India won the toss and decided to bat first and scored 182 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Zimbabwe's team could score 159 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Zimbabwe's team could not show anything special in this match. Sikandar Raza's team once again proved to be a flop with the ball and bat.
In this match played at Harare Sports Club, India won the toss and decided to bat first and scored 182 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. There was a partnership of 67 runs for the first wicket which was broken by Sikandar Raza in the ninth over. He got Jaiswal caught by Bennett. He managed to score 36 runs in 27 balls. During this, the young batsman hit four fours and two sixes at a strike rate of 133.33.
In this match, Shubman Gill hit the third half-century of his T20 international career, he scored 66 runs in 49 balls with a SR of 134. At the same time, Rituraj Gaikwad returned to the pavilion after playing a quick innings of 49 runs.
Zimbabwe, which was aiming to achieve the same target of 183, could score only 159 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. They got the first blow by Avesh Khan in the form of Madhevere. After this, the fall of wickets continued. After that Marumani 13, Bennett four, Raza 15, Campbell were out after scoring one run. Zimbabwe lost five wickets within seven overs.
Myers and Madande both shared a 77-run partnership for the sixth wicket, which was broken by Sundar. Myers remained unbeaten after scoring 65 runs off 49 balls.
For India, Sundar took three wickets and Avesh took two wickets. Whereas, Khalil took one wicket. In the third match, Team India won by 23 runs and took a 2-1 lead in the series.
