India has nominated retired diplomat Vinay Kwatra as its next ambassador to the US.

 Recently, India has nominated retired diplomat Vinay Kwatra as its next ambassador to the US. 

This appointment has been made a few months before the important elections to be held in the country. 

Let us tell you that Kwatra, who retired from the post of Foreign Secretary of India earlier this month, will try to bring certainty in India-US relations, and the post of India's ambassador to the US is vacant since the completion of Taranjit Singh Sandhu's tenure in January this year and now Vinay Kwatra will replace him. 

Talking about Kwatra's career, he is a retired IFS officer of India and a career diplomat, who has served as India's envoy to China, the US, Modi's office and France before his tenure as a top bureaucrat in the Ministry of External Affairs. 

Recently Bloomberg has reported that the main objective behind his appointment is 'Both countries are ready for a possible change in administration after the US elections in November. Kwatra's immediate priority will be to contact officials who can play an important role in India-related policy in the next administration'.

  The main expectations will be that he will talk about India's interests with the new administration because we know that the Biden administration has shifted its focus from Indo Pacific and has focused more on the Middle East and Russia, due to which the importance of QUAD is gradually diminishing.

 so now the new administration will be expected to focus more on strengthening QUAD again and Vinay Kwatra's main objective in this regard will be to strengthen US-India relations and also strengthen India-US trade relations and India-US relations in achieving economic goals. 

However, when asked about the appointment, India's Foreign Ministry did not comment. Sources said that it will be announced soon after the formalities are completed in America.
