The left-wing New Popular Front wins France's parliamentary elections.

 France's left-wing coalition came in first with 182 seats and the far-right coalition came in third - a stunning reversal of last Sunday's first round results. 

But in the second round on Sunday, July 7, the French people expressed their will and voted for the left-wing party with more votes than the right-wing party as the first party in the vote. 

The left-wing New Popular Front won 182 seats in the National Assembly, making it the largest group, but short of the 289 seats needed for an absolute majority. While President Emmanuel Macron's centrist Ensemble coalition won 163 seats.

 The right-wing National Rally, which had a lead in the first round, slipped to third place with 143 seats due to tactical voting. With no party close to winning a majority, parliament is likely to be paralysed and split into three factions. 

 President Emmanuel Macron's centrist Ensemble coalition, which slipped to third place in the first round of voting last Sunday, made a strong comeback, winning 163 seats. The French Interior Ministry has confirmed the final results of Sunday's election which saw a voter turnout of 66.63%.

The most seats were won by the left-wing coalition New Popular Front with 182 seats.

The centrist party, Emmanuel Macron's Ensemble party won 163 seats. In third place, the right-wing National Rally and allies won 143 seats.

 The New Popular Front (NFP) did not exist a month ago. Now, it is set to win the most seats in the French parliament and could provide France with its next prime minister.

 The French election was scheduled to be held in 2026 but French President Emmanuel Macron had reportedly called for early elections after the right-wing victory in June's European elections.  And now its result is in front of you, his party is in second place and now he will not be able to form the government.

Seeing Emmanuel Macron, the only saying that comes to mind is "Shooting yourself in the foot"
