Gen general elections 2024 date announced. Loksabha election 2024.

 Hello and I welcome you all at Global affairs. Recently chief election commissioner of India Rajiv Kumar address a Press Conference on the general election 2024 on 16th March. The main objective of this press conference was to announce the activities of general election of India.

Highlights of the Press Conference.

(1) in this press conference the announce that the term of 17th Lok Sabha is going to expire on 16th June 2024.

(2) Loksabha elections in India will be completed in 7 phases.

(3) while announcing the election date the chief election commissioner has said that election in India will start from 19th April and ends on 1st June.

(4) eci is also conduct elections of the Legislative Assemblies like Odisha Arunachal Pradesh Andhra Pradesh Sikkim along with the general elections.

(5) also making announcement regarding the election of Manipur and Jammu Kashmir the chief election commissioner has said that election in Jammu Kashmir will be held after the general elections and elections will be conducted in Manipur by maintaining security near the relief camps.

What did the chief election commissioner say about EVM?

When asked about EVM the chief election commissioner said that EVM are completely safe and sighting the old cases of the high courts and the supreme court he said that in this Supreme Court and the high courts has been found that EVM are safe.

When will be the model code of conduct  implemented?

The election commission of India has announced immediate implementation of the model code of conduct (MCC) after the announcement of the election schedule.
